It’s eight o'clock in the morning. Saturday. I’m cutting the avocado into wedges and just mashing it with a fork. I love this soft, creamy fruit - the fruit of love. My son is running merrily around and playing with a cat, my husband walks over kissing me on the cheek.
The night is over, a new day begins. And it seems to me surprising that a real war is going on very close to us, where there is blood and pain, where there is hunger and disease, where there is horror and struggle, and a bitter parting.
I'm making this tasty breakfast and understand that our happiness is now so fragile.
And I really want the war to stop as soon as possible, and not affect us. I believe the Good will certainly win, which would mean the absolute victory of that reality, where I will again and again make food for my loved ones; where we will live and rejoice together, and cry together, and eat this same avocado at the same table, and kiss each other on the tops of our heads, and hug each other in the morning.
Love and take care of each other every God's day!
