NATURE WITHOUT RECOGNITION: IT IS ABOUT HUMAN BLINDNESS?

Group exhibition by Artseeker Gallery

2023 - November, 23

From November 16-19, 2023, the exhibition “Nature Without Recognition: Is It About Human Blindness?” organized by Artseeker Gallery (Brooklyn, New York) took place in the heart of New York City. This event became a cultural manifesto on the need to rethink humanity's relationship with nature in the era of climate crisis.

The idea behind the exhibition was to explore the phenomenon of humanity's “blindness” towards nature. Despite the fact that the modern world is closely linked to technology, progress, and development, we often ignore the beauty, value, and vulnerability of the environment.

The curators of the exhibition asked a direct question: how much do we appreciate and value the nature that surrounds us?

The exhibition featured works by artists: VICTO, Uliana Sal, Olga Tiho, Anna Voronina, Daria Borisova, Maria Korshunova, Olga Afanasiadi, Marat MA.KE Abishev, Katrin Rymsha, Julie Max, Irina Petrova, Anastasia Mastilovic, FAER, Kovalevskaya Liliya, Yulia Belasla, Natiko, Anton Klepikov, Anna Artemieva, Eden Aizenberg, Vasili Isakov, Lyulina Anastasya, Abramova Darina, GANNA, Yulia Isaeva, Magriana, Diana Fuchs, Anastasia Misharina, Ana Ozz, Isakova Lidia, Irina Tkachenko

The exhibition included paintings and sculptures, ranging from bright contrasting images to abstract forms that invited viewers to reflect on balance and imbalance, harmony and distortion.

The artists used symbols, metaphors, and textures to create space for reflection and encourage viewers to see familiar images in a new light. Each art object became not only an aesthetic experience, but also a trigger for internal dialogue about humanity's place in the ecosystem.

The exhibition also had a practical dimension: 10% of the sales of each work went to the Re:Wild Foundation, which works with environmentalists and Leonardo DiCaprio to protect and restore wildlife.

This decision made the project not only a symbolic act, but also a concrete contribution to preserving the future of the planet.

Through its visual statements, Nature Without Recognition became a platform for dialogue about human responsibility.

The exhibition in Manhattan showed that art can be a mirror of our blindness and, at the same time, a key to awakening awareness, calling us to reevaluate the value of nature and reconsider our own place in the world.
