This diptych presents two figures as if excavated from the strata of time. Their forms are simplified, almost schematic, yet grounded in a textured surface that feels weathered and ancient.
Layered metallic pigments — gold, silver, and muted earth tones — create a surface reminiscent of oxidized walls or archaeological fragments. The figures stand within horizontal bands that suggest horizon, division, and shared ground.
Though separated into two panels, they remain visually aligned — connected through gesture and spatial rhythm. The rope-like line extending from the hands implies both tether and continuity: separation and bond at once.
The work does not narrate history. It invokes origin. It reflects on duality — self and other, past and present, matter and memory — proposing that identity is shaped within relationship.
The figures appear less as individuals and more as archetypes — echoes of something foundational.
