BIO
Greta Makarevich, born in 1982, is a contemporary artist who brings a unique focus to the world of birds, inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's thriller The Birds. This cinematic encounter sparked a fascination in her, prompting her to see birds not merely as creatures of flight, but as personalities with distinct lives, stories, and emotions. Greta’s paintings reveal her vision of birds as reflections of the human condition, exploring themes of freedom, resilience, and introspection. Each bird in her artwork is imbued with character, mirroring human experiences—some are immobilized, lacking wings after enduring life's trials, while others are blindfolded, refusing to witness the world. Through these expressive figures, Greta aims to offer viewers a mirror for their own lives, encouraging new perspectives, inspiration, and self-reflection.
