BIO
Vesta Shi, Experienced artist
Based in Nizhny Novgorod, Born 1989
Vesta Shi works in the "metamorphosis" style with elements of abstraction and expressionism. Metamorphosis in her works is the transformation, the transition from one form to another through threads of meaning. The artist dissects the entire image into structure and fibers, filling each part with meaning. Her paintings consist of the tiniest details, particles, and connections. The images are metaphorical and capable of endless transformations.
"Art helps you see yourself from within," says Vesta Shi. She adds, "For me, the most valuable thing is when people who buy my paintings buy them again! They create their own collections from my works. I have collectors with more than five of my works. The most important thing is the feedback. People note that by acquiring my works, their homes undergo a transformation. Spaces are filled with meaning and positive energy. That's the most important thing - to feel!"
For me, it's important to share the knowledge and skills I possess. I've opened an open workshop where anyone who comes can feel free and express their feelings on canvas or paper, without academic correctness and standard master classes. Creative freedom for everyone interested!
To me, a painting is like a separate lived life that I pass through myself. I believe that everything around us has its own energy. My paintings may not suit everyone, but if you "feel" it, it means it energetically resonates with you and can positively impact your life. It can motivate, calm, or inspire - everyone has their own experience. "Metamorphosis" in my works is a transformation, a transition from one form to another through threads of meaning and tensions. Here, reality and the subconscious are intertwined. The images are metaphorical and capable of endless transformations.
The artist is actively involved in charitable activities, helping those in need. She also participates in teaching children, conducts workshops for them, focusing on emotions and states, on local art and abstraction. Additionally, she gives lectures on contemporary art at various forums. She also sends letters and paintings to the front lines to boost morale and aid in recovery.
