“Dreamer” is part of my ongoing series dedicated to dogs — a subject I return to again and again in my practice. I spent many hours observing my own dog while he slept, and those quiet moments revealed a tenderness that deeply moved me. A sleeping dog softens your heart, makes you forgive every mischief, and reminds you of the animal’s vulnerability, no matter how strong or energetic it may be when awake.
This sculpture carries that feeling of kindness and affection. The Dalmatian rests peacefully, with a small blue sleep mask around its neck — a playful, almost intimate accessory borrowed from the human world. Through this detail, I highlight the gentle connection between humans and animals, and the way our lives subtly intertwine.
