The artwork depicts a girl jumping into the water and taking a selfie in flight. This artwork tells about the need of a woman to play, to manifest the inner child. The painting depicts a happy and brave girl who demonstrates her Self to the world through her phone. She is free from the burden of duties and requirements imposed by patriarchal society. The artist draws attention here to the value of women's needs. Having faced the problem of ignoring the personality characteristics of a woman from childhood, GerDa wants to show that a woman can become happy only when her needs are met. The artist had to fight the world in order not to do monotonous work and not to live a monotonous life that she did not want. It was a struggle to be able to do important things in the field of art and manifest through it. In Russia, GerDa experienced the experience of imposing traditional patriarchal values on a woman, forcing her to fulfill a certain standard social role (which includes reproductive violence, bullying about appearance and weight, criticism about the choice of profession).
A bright orange imprimature illuminates the painting from the inside with warm sun rays. This creates the feeling of a sunny day filled with joy and serenity. Large and bold brushstrokes are visible in the artwork. The artist seems to be capturing a moment, not trying to idealize it. This makes the painting more modern and alive. This painting combines two artistic styles: realism and contemporary impressionism. Realism is manifested in the accurate depiction of details and the transmission of mood. Impressionism is in the use of bright colors and loose brushstrokes.
