On a small island of light, a fawn lies, warily glancing at the one whose noise had torn it from the necessary oblivion. In its gem-like eyes, there's a hint of unease – the previous visit from the two-legged creature ended in tragedy. Sunbeams are now the only thing warming it. Will they take that away too? But the sun cannot be shot down, like they did with its mother.

"I'll pretend not to be afraid and run away swiftly. Let them chase me; I'll protect everyone. This time, I won't lose what's dear to me," the fawn's thoughts rang clear. Wildflowers and young grass serve the animal not only as soft bedding but also as a second family because the first one was taken by poachers. The fawn has another involuntary companion - persistent solitude, which, on top of that, stubbornly wanted to settle in its heart.

If some people were more conscious, this painting would be about an animal that fell asleep at the edge of the forest, savoring its first childhood discoveries. However, the reality is that the canvas depicts a fawn that sought refuge from solitude in its dreams, where its family was still alive.
